Give the record some context
When you pause or stop, the optional work-note box lets you explain what happened. For example: Updated the contact form and checked mobile layout. Save the note or choose Skip. Notes describe the work; entering 20 minutes in a note does not change the recorded timer duration.
Finish with a save check
Look for Saved to your account before closing the page or switching devices. Open Earnings & work history to see the saved session. If a save warning appears, keep the browser data intact and follow the recovery options. A local copy is useful, but it is not proof that another device has received the session.
